In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory

We are sad to share that one of our Furry Founders, Rosie, passed away a short time ago. About a year ago, Rosie was diagnosed with Protein Losing Enteropathy (PLE) due to underlying Lymphangectasia. These are a lot of big words that meant that she didn't absorb proteins properly. This would cause chronic diarrhea and fluid collection in her abdomen and chest. As we learned more about the disease and tried different medicine regimens, it became clear what a large part diet played in this condition. She was restricted to an extremely low fat diet of prescription food and low calorie treats. For a dog who was so food-motivated that she would eat anything (literally... she'd eat plain iceberg lettuce.... ) this was hard for us.

Rosie was the reason we started this company. Her restrictive diet left us unable to find healthy alternatives for treats and she inspired us to make a change. When she saw me get out the mini RUFFin pans or the natural peanut butter out of the pantry, she would assume her spot at the end of the kitchen to supervise production. She also sacrificed herself, taste-testing every product that we came up with for the betterment of dog-kind.

We miss her terribly and, unfortunately, this business has not been the same without her. As a result, we've made the difficult decision to close Kloud9 Barkery. We hope that we have helped our PUPstomers enjoy some healthy, yet delicious, treats along the way. And we greatly appreciate all of the support from our friends, family and customers.

Thank you for everything,

Jennifer and Krystin
